"Can't" Is Not A Word (according to my Dad…)
Does the phrase “I can’t do that!” sound familiar to you? My Dad always said that there is no such word as “can’t”. Yet funny thing is, I hear it all the time. Or worse, see it reflected in the inaction of people who actually believe they “can’t”.
Saying you “can’t” do something is akin to giving up your power and promise of a better life to the world at large. It’s easy to see why so many people do this —they are essentially not taking responsibility for their own inaction. Yet these same people tend to complain the loudest when things don’t quite go their way…
Whatever you think is holding you back is not what is truly holding you back. What’s holding you back is your thought that something is holding you back.
Your limitations have precisely the power that you choose to give them. Ignore them and they become irrelevant.
The obstacles do not limit you. Rather, they compel you to be creative and resourceful.
The challenges you face do not limit you. They provide you with an arena in which to create meaningful value.
Is there something you desire that seems impossible? Then you still have work to do in framing and clarifying and connecting with the truth of that desire.
Nothing separates you from your authentic purpose other than your refusal to see it. See it, be it, and leave the limitations behind.
Ralph Marston
It never ceases to amaze me how the main difference between the few truly successful people (both in business and life) differ primarily in their attitude. While most people look for reasons (i.e. excuses) as to why they “can’t” do something, these winners are always looking for reasons and ways how they can. Now here is the good news, you have a choice as to which attitude you hold. So what’s it going to be?

I had the priviledge of hearing Andy Andrews speak live, and will always remember him saying “whenever I find myself starting a sentence with ‘I can’t'; I finish it with ‘but if I could, what would I do’?”
