Letting Go to Succeed
Sunday, September 5th, 2010
What’s holding you back, really holding you back from achieving all that you hope to achieve? Is it lack of skills, contacts, leads? The quick response to this question for most people is something they are lacking, that if they only had or could acquire, everything would change for the better.
What if instead we let go of certain things so that we are free to grow and achieve unfettered. We human beings love to hang on to our past, our “story” that imprisons with bars that no longer exist or have any true power to hold us back. And what would happen if we also let go of our current beliefs, and instead considered the possibility that there may be a reality beyond how we currently “know” it to be?
Success in business and life is not so much about aquiring new things or abilities. Just learning to let go of the chains of our past and limiting beliefs can free us to become who we were always meant to be. From that perspective every single moment is a potential explosion of new possibilities that we could never even dream about because we never allowed ourselves to do so. The reality is, we already have everything we need…
How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.
Anne Frank
Take a moment to let go, right now. At first it may be a bit scary (we are so darned comfortable hanging on to those familiar chains
). Make a point of doing it and being in the infinite possibility of the present just for a few minutes each day, and just watch what happens…
Work to Live, Not Live to Work
Monday, July 5th, 2010
Summer is here (at least for those of us North of the equator) and today is one of the biggest and most important “relaxation” holidays of the year in the U.S. —the 4th of July (okay, it’s actually the 5th, but we are celebrating it today).
So just how relaxed are you feeling? Is it hard to “let go” and not think about work. Or do you feel stressed because you are trying not to think about work and the little voice in your head says you better or something bad will happen?
If so, welcome to the club. Far too many of us (me included) have a hard time relaxing. I suspect the primary reason for this is that age-old culprit, fear. Fear that if we let go of our iron grip everything will fall apart. Actually, quite the opposite is true. If we don’t learn to relax on a regular basis, everything will fall apart, starting with our health and relationships…
When you don’t have time to relax, that’s when relaxation will help you most. Go ahead, and allow yourself to relax.
Stop clinging to what you think you need. Start allowing the beauty of what is.
Ralph Marston
So as you are cooking those hotdogs and burgers enjoy the moment for what it is. You’ve worked hard, you deserve to enjoy life without constant fretting and worry. Remember, you can handle anything that comes your way. It’s just a lot easier when you are fully rested and regained the perspective that you work to live, not live to work…
