Happy Holidays from the Woods Family!Imagine for a moment that you have achieved every goal even beyond your wildest dreams.  And on top of that you are young, beautiful, intelligent, fabulously wealthy yet generous, have an incredible family and are famous for being literally the best in the world at what you do.

Isn’t this the dream that our society tells us we should strive for? Now granted, only a handful of people on the planet will ever achieve that level of success both in life and business.  Yet, is even all this still enough?

Just ask Tiger Woods.  If there ever was a poster boy for no matter what we achieve it will never be “enough”, it is Tiger.  Keep in mind that by definition nearly every marketing message that bombards our senses 7,000 – 8,000 times a day screams that we are “not enough” unless we use a particular service or acquire a certain product.

Is it any wonder why so many, no matter how affluent, feel adrift and struggle to find worth in ever greater achievement and acquisition?  It’s a hole that can never be filled with things or acclaim.  It’s a hole that can only be “fulfilled”…

If all your goals were reached and even exceeded, what would get you going each morning? If every problem in your life were solved, where would you direct your energy?

Certainly it is necessary to pay attention to all the outer concerns. But if that’s all you ever think about, you can become hopelessly frustrated and disillusioned.  Every now and then, dig deeper. Remind yourself why you desire what you desire.

Without a sense of purpose it doesn’t matter how much money you make, how many awards you win or how famous you are.  You can be just as lost on a yacht as on a dingy.  Purpose is something that everyone already has (if they look deep enough) which is our compass keeping us on the true path during this journey we call life.
